The Teddy Bears’ 100 Acre Wood Walk
Sunday 8th March
11.00AM - 1.00PM
Meet from 10.30AM at Camberwell Old Cemetery Gates
Forest Hill Road London SE22 0SQ
To walk through a wood in spring day is magical, witnessing new life emerging, the woodpeckers hammering, the first catkins and crocuses, breathing the woodland air.
The magical Southwark Woods, threatened by development for 6,000 lucrative burial plots, are well loved and used by residents, walkers, families, schools, artists, historians, for contact with nature, mental and physical health, for learning and pleasure.
A community walk on Sunday 8th March – the 100 Acre Wood Walk – will celebrate the beautiful Southwark Woods and show how strongly people feel about preserving them for the future.
The walk will go from the woodlands of Camberwell Old Cemetery, up and over One Tree Hill, through Camberwell New Cemetery and over to Nunhead Cemetery nature reserve – the 100 Acre Wood.
The 100 Acre Wood is Pooh’s home. So as well as your wellies, bring your red balloons, your honey – and your teddy bears!
