Do you have family or friends buried in the Camberwell Cemeteries or Nunhead Cemetery? Their graves may be at risk

SURVEY FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS WHO HAVE LOVED ONES BURIED SOUTHWARK

All graves in Southwark cemeteries are at risk.

We are helping local group Respect Our Ancestors track down people with family or friends buried in Southwark's cemeteries.

If you have friends or relatives buried in Southwark cemeteries fill in the survey here...

Since June 2012, Southwark Council's strategy for the Camberwell Cemeteries - and potentially Nunhead Cemetery too - has been to mound over or dig up every old grave for re-sale as 'new' burial plots over the dead.

This means cutting down many hundreds of trees across 12 acres of woodland, driving a new road up historic One Tree Hill, and the destruction of thousands of graves and memorials.

2 acres of woods were already felled in Camberwell Old Cemetery in February - without Church permission.
